My travel to Campania

Rome-Napoli-Ischia-Capri-Procida

I really felt the need to share with you my travel story to Italy. My experiences can be very helpful and can stand as a travel guide for you, if you plan to visit that famous and historical country….

Your trip planning can be a nice headache to such a beautiful country as Italy, since it has numerous places to visit and infinite thing to do!

Staying at Rome is unconditional! Rome is the capital city of Italy and a tourism-magnet, with all the things and monuments it has to expose! Colosseum and St. Peter’s Basilica are only two of them.

But what about coastal regions? Sardinia, Tuscany, Campania, Sicily, Puglia...

Sardinia has amazing beaches to relax and enjoy the sun, but I also wished for cultural and historical sightseeing, gastro-trips and boat-trips, and long walks to explore to the max the place I was in.

During a long and exploring walk on TRIPinVIEW's aerial photos and videos, I ran into the picture of Procida. I got enchanted and it became my dream to visit that small and miraculous island.

So, the plan should have included Procida. All things considered the final 12 days Master Plan was as follows: 3 days at Rome; 4 days at Naples (including trip to Capri, Pompei & Vesuvio); 5 days at Ischia (including trip to Procida).

Stories

Here is some interesting stories that happened to me during my vacation in Campania:

My favorite pizza is now Frutte de Mare, why?

An Italian plate of excellent food

Italian sea-food pizza in Napoli

On my first day in Naples, I went to a restaurant feeling really hungry. I checked the menu and found out that there were no pictures in, so I preferred “playing safe” and I asked for a pizza with bacon (don't remember the name).

The waiter brought a pizza with seafood on it. I asked if that was the pizza I ordered and he said “yes, of course”. I said “No, there is seafood on the pizza, not bacon”. Then, he apologized and I accepted the “wrong” pizza and ate it. The waiter’s misunderstanding proved to be a happy surprise for me, since THAT pizza was very, and I mean very delicious. What a nice mistake 😉

Occasional wedding….

(No, it wasn’t me who got married. I was in Italy not in Vegas…!!!)

The next day, I took a city tour in Naples. There is a church there, Santa Restituta, where an actual wedding was taking place. Coming across the Italian wedding was amazing and symbolic too, since after that, I met my love. Call it good luck, fortune or karma….

Dreams do come true…

My little dream came true when I was in Procida. What an amazing and colorful island!

Procida is so breathtaking that I lost my optical glasses during a selfie!!  🙂

And a nice surprise from Aegean airlines in the end:

P.S. Indeed, Campania is the most beautiful region in Italy.

I traveled to Campania in September 2016 for which I would like to express my special thanks to you because TRIPinVIEW helped me to discover this coastal.
